Dj Dazee

"The best thing about SUBPAC is that it makes me feel like I've got a 10K rig in my home studio and I don't upset my neighbours or damage my ears! It's great for accentuating bottom end successes as well as issues and has brought back a lot of the joy I used to have when I wasn't so worried about neighbours or ears. It's also a great teaching resource, particularly for my Music Production lessons at Bimm Bristol and I honestly feel like I can't do without it now!"

Dj, Producer, Label Owner, Broadcaster and original Jungle Pioneer, Dazee brings her wealth of experience plus a big charge of energy to the dancefloor. Dazee’s productions and co-labs have seen successful releases over two decades on independent dnb labels Breakbeat Culture, Colourstone, Siren Records, Hocus Pocus and of course Ruffneck Ting. She stepped up to manage Ruffneck Ting Records after the relaunch in 2013 with the 1990’s classics album RNT20 and the label has gone from strength to strength. As well as a succession of EPs topping independent dnb download charts, 2016 and 2018 saw the release of two huge concept co-lab albums, “The Xtraordinary League Of Junglists” ,the first with accompanying vinyl and comic.

No stranger to broadcasting throughout her career, Dazee began in the mid 90’s with shows on Bristol’s pirates, Ragga and Passion FM, alongside her then partner in crime, MC Jakes (Hench). This was soon followed by a weekly dnb chart mix on Galaxy 101 and several performances on BBC Radio 1’s One In The Jungle. In 1996 Dazee featured in “The Sounds Of The West” documentary alongside Roni Size and Krust and in 2001, HTV’s “The Session” that featured her dnb music project, Eden. In the mid 2000’s, Dazee’s involvement with all-female collective Dutty Girl led to a performance on ITVs “Fixers” and mixing Genna G’s winning mixtape for 1Xtra’s “Homegrown Challenge”

Dazee continues to host regular Ruffneck Ting events, a fortnightly radio show on Bristol’s award winning Ujima FM and guest shows on Kool FM , Rough Tempo and Run Tingz Radio. She enjoys frequent appearances on Run and Hospitality lineups in Bristol and London and on top of this has a busy schedule of studio, label, mentoring and teaching projects.
