With family as a major influence on his work, Cole has followed in the footsteps of his family’s musical legacy that includes: his great-uncle and legendary jazz singer and pianist Nat King Cole (I admire his natural, organic, but extremely polished presentation,” says Cole. The balancing act of honestly expressing yourself and putting on a great show are the signs of greatness to me. To share his blood is a gift I have and always will cherish… I didn’t have a choice.”); his father Eddie Cole Sr., who has worked with the likes of Ray Charles, Chaka Khan, and Natalie Cole; and his mother, Laura Cole, an opera singer, multi-instrumentalist, and music teacher.
With all of these experiences and influences shaping his work, Cole learned how to produce music and with that knowledge, began writing, recording, and performing his own music, including his recently released album Inertia: The Art of Motion.
Following The Inertia LP, Eddie plans on releasing a new EP including an homage to his aunt Natalie Cole and the follow up to the Inertia LP in 2017. Stay tuned for more adventures by this multi-talented forward thinker.
